Vienna experience

I have more pictures from Vienna, Austria, but I'm writing from London, so it will be a few days! But the fam and I took a bus to Vienna while they were here. It was a great experience. I LOVED the palaces, gardens and all the other beautiful things. We also got to see the Opera house where Mosart used to play! I was glad to not have to tour guide, haha. But we ate at some of the most delicious restaurants, including attending the famous central cafe. I ate so much while they were here, I had to go on a family leave diet! Lol but we ate at this one place in particular that was what we thought was an original beer pub. Amazingly, we find it only at attempt two. We get there, go downstairs, to this beautiful room covered in antique tools, wines, millions of hats, animals and crazy other things. We sit down, expecting a pub menu, to open up a book. It included a detailed history of what famous people used to eat there. One, including Maria Theresa. We ate strange foods, like peasant soup, dad had ox, and possible other things. Lol after dinner we go into the hat room, where we try on beautiful hats and we had a fashion show...the pictures are coming soon I promise! :)

A week with the family is always so fun! Of course, my family can never not have housing problems! While i was temporarily misplaced in Prague, trying to find this apartment, my family had met some new friends. I run into my dad, who tells me to meet mom and the others on the 3rd floor. So i hear their loud voices and follow the echo to the top floor apartment. I open the door to see all of them eating and drinking with a British family, they invited them in, our apartment number had changed. So once we were settled, i took them around the easter markets, in the lovely rain (gosh the rain follows them!lol ) and then we went to a traditional lunch and ate dinner at a place where trains bring you drinks. That night i dragged Leah and Jenn out on a pub crawl, and we had a blast. Leah of course went from feeling sick, to initiating the absinth and vodka shooters! whoops. haha the night was so fun. the monday they were here, my spitey senses took us on a finally, successful journey to a place outside of prague called pilsen. We went on a brewery tour, and a prague underground tour, showing life from medieval times. Then we went to a Mexican place for dinner, and surprisingly, oh wait, just kidding, i got them lost for a little bit until we reached the beer museum where they sampled many different beers starting from chocolate to raspberry. the next few days i had class, so they ventured and did all the tourist like things, just looking and having no idea what they were at. But they told me they managed to see everything! We had a blast, many laughs, and i was sad to see them leave. but relieved from my temporary position as a tour guide, (remind me i will never have a career in this please). but it was a successful week thanks to a nice little map and an amazing family =]

Terezin Memorial

For my Jewish Experience class, we took a field trip to the Terezin memorial/concentration camp. It was quite the visit. You could feel the torture, as you walked into the sleeping quarters and through the chambers. It was a really good experience though. It made the Holocaust so much clearer, and i can now envision what exactly went on. Unfortunately, it was something I probably wont ever go to again but was so memorable.

Carnival time, these Czechs don't mess around

On a nice bright sunny day, my flat mates and i decided to go fine a beautiful vineyard and sit in the sun, and enjoy moravian wine. However, we passed a tram stop and all we saw were huge carnival rides in the distance. So we obviously decided to take a detour. These rides were bigger then six flags! it was awesome. the first side went on for 5 minutes and gave us a thrill for sure. the second one, is me and chelsea being spontaneous and decide to do the sling shot ball, before seeing what it did. Well we did not expect it to go so high, it was unreal! my roommates caught us on camera!

Always a good time with the family!

Yesterday morning, the family left me. My parents, brother, cousin Ben, sister, and her best friend jenn were here. It was quite the week. Obviously I wasted no time for partying and dragged the girls on a pub crawl the first night. I fought with mom and dad, they wanted to join....they don't allow old folks. ; ) just kidding. But we had a jam packed week and had a blast. I will upload pictures later about our trip to Vienna, AUSTRIA. Now that they are gone I can sleep! Lol but the busy week was well worth it. They saw so much of this beautiful city and enjoyed their time here. I'm sure, those of you who speak to my mother, she will say I'm a crazy guide. I took them to pragues form of theatre, since they love PPAC, and they laughed the whole time. They thought it was a joke and I told them it was real. So the black light theatre with a story of Alice in Wonderland. As much as they made fun of me, I knew they loved the weirdness! But I will post pictures, and I'm sure they will too. So Tata for now. Tune in later for some highlights of my families visit!
